Hunter graduated from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2004 with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
He worked in various capacities including ICU, cardiology, and Emergency Room at the VA Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. He attained a Master’s degree in Nursing from UAB with a focus in Hospital Administration in 2009 and served in the role as a hospital Administrator from 2007-2013 at the VA Medical Center in Birmingham.
He voluntarily moved back into the role of patient care in 2013. He provided in-home care to veterans with severe mental illness.
He attained a Nurse Practitioner Certification from the University of South Alabama in 2015. He is board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.
He has been married for 10 years with 2 children, a 4 year old son, and a 7 year old daughter.
He loves all sports including anything associated with Auburn University (War Eagle!), and is a self-proclaimed avid golfer.
